An Incredibly Beautiful Wedding at Honua Kai Lani

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Valashinas, Heather and Justin married at Honua Kai Lani last summer!  This amazingly sweet couple, who met at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and fell head over heels in love, went above and beyond to create the most memorable day of their lives.

The wedding community of Maui came around from every corner to pull off this extravagant wedding at the Sugarman Estate in Makena.  Where to begin!?  The timing of Heather and Justin’s wedding couldn’t have been more perfect.  It was a gorgeous day in Makena as vendors flocked around the property setting up the stage for their special day.

Carolina and Rodrigo of Rio Events set up their brand new Sperry Tents which set the stage.  They also provided some beautiful other elements like the lounge seating area, and draping.  Mandy Grace and her talented florists were responsible for the abundance of vibrant colorful flowers that scattered throughout the property.  From the lavish ceremony arch with soft hughes of ivory and blush, to the deep pink overhead circular dance floor instillation, to the wooden swing vines, to the dining table centerpieces, flowers were everywhere!  Peonies, roses, dahlias, orchids, greenery and beauty popped up all over the property.  Anna Kim Photography and her team of photographers beautifully captured all the details, kodak moments, and life long memories with their incredible skills.  John Hoel of Vibrant Films provided cinematography and created a beautiful video so they can look back on their special day for years to come. Bamboo Shoots set up a fun photo booth for guests enjoy.

Reverend Ron Winkler officiated the ceremony, bringing all the guests together for a moment to celebrate the love these two have for one another.  After the ceremony appetizers began filtering out and beverages flowed from Garnish Cocktail Catering and Smoke and Spice.  Guests made their way to the welcome tent where they signed the surfboad as “guest book” for the couple to keep after the ceremony.  The talented Miss B Calligraphy penned the words on the surfboard, along with numerous signs throughout the property adding more details and beauty to the celebration.

As guests made their way into the reception tent not only were they amazed by the florals, lighting, and draping but every detail was accounted for all the way down to the gold rimed glassware, plates and gold silver ware.  These beauties were provided by Set.  The napkins, in a pocket fold, were accented with a single orchid at each seat.  DJ Tony provided the sounds as the bridal party rocked and jammed their way into the reception tent preceding the newlyweds who came in dancing away.

Heather and Justin’s wedding cake was made by EmmaLee from Cake Fanatics, as well as the grooms cake decorated in Justin’s favorite sports team, the LA Galaxy.  Towards the end of the evening a special surprise show amazing and wowed the guests as the performers of Manutea Nui E fire danced and showcased some Polynesian culture.  Hair and makeup was styled by the wonderful makeup and hairstylists of Maui Makeup Artistry.  Rentals were provided by Island Rents, Hawaiian Style Event Rentals, Winters Events, and Rio.  Transportation was provided by Aloha Akina, Roberts Hawaii, and Platinum Tours.

After the festivities at the estate the bride, groom, and guests all went over the the newly opened Pint & Cork bar at the Shops of Wailea.  1st-dance_chandelier bg-swing place-settings-8 tent-draping-lighting cake-cutting ceremony-22 bar-floral-decor kids-in-lounge-2 surfboard-sign-2It was a truly magical day and a moment in time Heather, Justin, their family, friends, and their guests will never forget.
