Hui No‘eau Visual Art center is located on the historic Upcountry estate, Kaluanui. The spacious Mediterranean style home was designed in 1917 by the distinguished architect C.W. Dickey for Harry Baldwin and his wife, Ethel, who founded the Hui No‘eau in 1934. The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful and ready to host your wedding and reception. The ruins of the first sugar mill on Maui are visible as you enter the grounds, and your wedding party will enjoy a reception in the main gallery of the House. Kaluanui provides historic beauty and an air of the way life once was here on Maui.
Often overlooked in the tourism brochures, Upcountry Maui provides a rustic feel for your wedding and reception. Paniolos (Hawaiian Cowboys) can still be found working the idyllic pastures and roaming the small towns high up on Haleakala. Pi`iholo Ranch is a unique location and is available to host your Upcountry wedding. After you’ve tied the knot, your guests can enjoy a variety of activities at the ranch including ziplining, horseback riding and canopy tours. If you’re looking for true Hawaiian beauty for your big day, look into Upcountry Maui- you’ll be glad you did.
If you’re looking for that feel of Old Hawai`i, Makena is the place. Simply Makena is an ocean front garden oasis and a favorite for weddings and intimate gatherings. Nestled in a secluded bay on Maui’s South shore, Simply Makena offers panoramic views of the Pacific, the West Maui Mountains, and the neighboring islands of Kahoolawe and Lanai. The gardens are enhanced with lush tropical foliage, mango, papaya and banana trees, a charming gazebo, and a small bluff overlooking a pristine and protected bay. A wedding and reception at Simply Makena is one that you and your guests will never forget.
