How to Propose to Your Potential Bridesmaids

How to Propose to Your Potential Bridesmaids

Deciding to get married is a wonderful thing! And, deciding to get married in Maui is even better. However, even after you’ve said yes to your significant other and picked Maui as your wedding destination, there’s still one major thing left to do: “propose” to your bridesmaids.

That’s right! Bridesmaid proposals have become a major trend in recent years. Now, it’s en vogue to ask people to be in your wedding party in a special, meaningful way. If you’re feeling a bit stuck for ideas, though, don’t worry. There are plenty of fun, easy options for popping the question.

Give a Gift

Everyone loves getting presents, and it’s even better when there’s an extra surprise inside!

Why not choose a fun gift for each prospective member of your wedding party. This could be a matching piece of jewelry, a cute shirt, or really anything you want. Then, you can either have the gift made to say something like “Will you be my bridesmaid?” with the wedding date included, or you can just include a card or other item that asks the big question. Be sure that everyone opens their gifts at the same time, and expect lots of squealing and happiness!

Ask with Cake

If your bridesmaids-to-be share a sweet tooth, consider having the all-important question put on a cake. Or, you could even spell it out on several sweet little cupcakes. Everyone will gather around for a treat . . . only to find there’s an even better treat in store: your wedding and the fact that you want them to be a part of it!

Share a Private Moment

If you prefer to ask your bridesmaids one-on-one, why not ask the big question just like you would the real big question. Visit your soon-to-be bridesmaid at her home, surprise her at work, or invite her out to lunch at her favorite restaurant. Then, find the perfect moment—you can even get down on one knee if you like—to ask your friend to become your bridesmaid. This is a great way to make the moment more special and memorable with each of your friends.

Ultimately, no matter how you “pop the question,” the people who mean the most to you are sure to say yes to your request. And, once you have the bridal party in place, then you can get down to the real (but fun!) work of planning your special day.
