Coronavirus is still a serious problem in many parts of the United States. And, while some states have greatly eased COVID-related restrictions, others are amping them up again due to surges in the virus. Thankfully, though, even if you live in a heavily-restricted area, there are still plenty of safe ways you can plan your Maui wedding right from home!
Research Venue Options
First things first, if you haven’t found a venue, or if your wedding venue had to cancel due to the virus, now is the perfect time to start looking into venue options! After all, it’s something you can do online and/or over the phone, without having to come in close contact with anyone.
You can try rescheduling with your original venue if applicable, though many have found themselves faced with an unexpectedly long waiting list due to the many weddings that have been affected by COVID. If that doesn’t work or if you just want to start over, then begin by finding venues in Maui that appeal to you, seeing if their availability matches your planned wedding dates, and then narrowing down your choices from there.
Choose Your Wedding Flowers
Another easy task you can complete from home is choosing your wedding flowers. Sure, it may not be quite the same as sniffing them in person, but many florists will create a floral proposal of ideas, options and pricing for you to consider. Just make sure you think about which flowers will be in-season and readily available on your actual wedding date.
Create a Guest List
If you haven’t made a wedding guest list just yet, quarantine is the perfect time! After all, you’ll have lots of time to think and really consider who you want at your wedding, as well as things like the cost per person, which can influence your decision. Just bear in mind that, depending on your wedding date, everyone on your list may not feel comfortable attending a gathering, or some may have risk factors to worry about that keep them at home. Let people make their own decisions, and remember not to take anything personally during these trying times.
