Tips for Wonderful Wedding Appetizers
One of the best parts of a wedding is the food. After all, who doesn’t love feasting on cake and other treats? As part of the wedding couple, it’s your job to make sure your guests leave satisfied. This doesn’t mean, however, that you have to serve a full meal. If you’re trying to save money, passing some simple but tasty appetizers can really help. Or, you can pass appetizers and then get away with serving a lighter meal. Even if you don’t have budgetary concerns, appetizers are still a lot of fun . . . not to mention delicious. And, in any case, these tips can help you to serve them up right!
Don’t Serve Anything Too Messy
First things first, absolutely avoid overly messy appetizers, especially if you’re passing them around and not serving them as part of a seated meal. It’s all too easy for guests (or even the bride or groom!) to spill sauces or leave fingerprints on their fanciest attire. Plus, messy foods can make for messy carpets and floors, which could lead to excess cleaning fees. For best results, keep all food as neat and grease-free as possible.
Think Local
Appetizers are a great way to add some literal local flavor into your special day. Thus, try and choose food that represents the area where you’re getting married. In Maui, for example, you might pass around bacon-wrapped pineapple bites, while in the South, hushpuppies would be a tempting treat. Think of your food as a way to celebrate your wedding locale. It’s yet another way to add fun and joy to your day.
Keep Them Small
The nice thing about appetizers is that they’re meant to be small treats, not full meals. So, keep each appetizer truly small. Ideally, it should be something a guest can eat in one or two quick bites. Anything bigger than that, and you run the risk of people not eating their dinner. Even if you aren’t serving a full meal, there’s no reason to go overboard on appetizer size. After all, people can’t easily eat anything too large while they’re mingling, talking, and dancing the night away.
There’s no doubt about it. Appetizers are awesome! To keep yours delightful, make sure to keep all of these tips in mind.
