Meaningful Ways To Honor Mom On Your Wedding Day

Do you have a wonderful mother? If so, remember to pay her some special love on your wedding day. It’s a day when you celebrate moving on to a new phase of your life. However, it’s also a day to honor the people who got you to this point, including and especially your mom. Fortunately, it won’t take much to make her feel cherished, especially if you act from the heart.

Get Her A Thoughtful Gift

Gifts are a great way to show people how much you care. So, find something thoughtful and special to give to your mom just before the ceremony or at the reception. It could be a beautifully framed picture of the two of you, something you made, matching jewelry, or anything in between. As long as you put some real thought into it, she’s guaranteed to love it.

Incorporate Her Into The Ceremony

Traditionally, the father gets to walk the bride down the aisle. However, there’s no rule that says you have to stick with tradition. Mom can walk you down the aisle in place of or with Dad if you want. Or, if you want to keep things traditional, you can find other ways to incorporate parts of her into the ceremony. Whether you wear her dress, use part of her dress in the bouquet, or use the same vows she used, you can find some way to make her a real part of things.

Take Some Pictures Together

You’ll probably pose for a lot of photos on your wedding day. Just make sure some of those photos are of you and your mom together. Posing and smiling together will make her feel included and valued. Furthermore, you and she can treasure those photographs for a lifetime.

Set Aside Some Time

Finally, set aside a little “mother-daughter” time on or before your big day. Visit a spa together, book a trip to Maui or somewhere else fun, go out to eat, or grab some wine and have a few laughs. Reserving a few moments for your mother, particularly during a busy time, will mean a lot to her.

Your wedding day is your day. But, it’s not just about you. It’s also about the people you love, including your mom. So, show them and her some extra care and attention on the big day.
