WEDDING DAY REMBRENCES

Your wedding day will be one of the most important moments of your life. Embarking on that day without a beloved family member due to death is incredibly difficult; however, there are many ways you can honor their impact on your life on your special day!

Finding a way to incorporate lost family members and other beloved individuals on your wedding day can ease the void their lack of presence would create. There are several ways to pay tribute. Some are discreet, while others are a bit more public and know there is no such right or wrong way to do so.

One of the more private tributes consists of placing a favorite picture in a locket of you and your loved one to wear throughout the wedding festivities. Keeping them close to your heart can provide a great sense of peace. Or you could create a garter out of materials from a treasured article of clothing, which will have you wrapped in their love as you walk down the aisle. A bit more public remembrance could be incorporating a favorite song of theirs into your reception, allowing everyone to partake in the acknowledgment of their importance and celebrating the influence they've had in your life. A special candle lighting during the ceremony is a unique way too to remember loved ones that are deceased. This is a beautiful way to memorialize multiple family members, and you can even go as far as writing each individual's name on the candle. One last suggestion would be designating an empty chair, adorned with flowers, framed photo, or a 'reserved' sign, with your loved one's name.

Symbolizing a deceased loved one on your wedding day is not a requirement, so don't feel pressure to have a tribute if it's not something you genuinely want to do. Your loved ones are carried with you regardless.
