What to Serve at a Halloween Wedding

What to Serve at a Halloween Wedding

Are you getting married during “spooky season?” Are you a Halloween lover? If so, why not add a touch of Halloween into your special day? Whether you’re getting married in beautiful Maui or anywhere in between, it’s easy to incorporate this fun holiday, especially in the dishes and drinks you serve up.

Poison Apple Punch

For a drink that’s as potent as it is delicious, consider serving some poison apple “punch.” Per drink, you’ll need:

·        Two ounces of rum

·        A half ounce of lemon juice

·        Four ounces of apple cider

·        Two ounces of pomegranate juice

Of course, it’s easy to multiply the recipe to have enough for all your guests. Plus, you can even leave out the alcohol for those who prefer not to drink.

Mummy Style Treats

Another fun way to add in hints of Halloween is to “mummify” your food. If you can wrap it in strips of crescent dough or other dough, you can make it look like a mummy! While cocktail weenies are a popular choice for mummification, it also works with baked brie and other meats and cheeses.

Mexican Vampires

Another easy alcoholic drink you can whip up is what’s known as a Mexican vampire. It gets its name thanks to its red color and the “bite” of the tajin. Per drink, mix up:

·        One and a half ounces of tequila

·        Three ounces of sangrita

·        One and a half ounces of lemon-lime soda (regular or diet)

·        A splash of lime juice to taste

·        Tajin to taste

Bloody Cake

If you’re super serious about the Halloween theme, you can always opt to make your cake “bloody.” Some red frosting (the drippier the better) on top of a white cake definitely gives off Halloween vibes. Or, you can opt for a red velvet cake so the red stays inside. Fair warning, though, a “blood” themed cake may gross out some of your guests. But, hey, it’s your wedding!

Halloween weddings may not be for everyone. But, if you like the idea a little or a lot, then go for it. These easy, tasty treats are a great place to start.
