Trendy or Traditional? Just be You!
Planning a wedding is easier than ever thanks to the many online resources that now exist. You can browse Pinterest to get inspired or read up on what the latest celebrity did for their wedding in Maui or some other exotic locale. With that said, though, all the information you have access to can often feel a bit overwhelming, especially when it comes to trends.
Do you want to follow all the latest trends you see online? Or, maybe you want to step back and be traditional or just do your own thing? It can all be a lot to process. However, take a deep breath and don’t panic. Do what feels right to you, but, at the same time, do at least consider these super-trending trends that every bride or groom to be should know about.
Non-Traditional Flowers
Once upon a time, all the brides and bridesmaids carried lilies or roses while the groom and groomsmen donned similarly traditional flowers on their suits. Nowadays, though, traditional flowers are out and hip, new options are in.
For example, people are going for dried flowers, which can also easily serve as a keepsake, as well as bleached or even dyed flowers for a totally unique look. Thus, if you want something different and daring in terms of floral arrangements, don’t be afraid to go for it!
More Intimacy
It used to be that big, inclusive weddings with anyone and everyone in attendance were the thing to do. Now, though, smaller, more intimate celebrations are becoming the norm, often with larger family gatherings at a later date. So, if you want something a bit more cozy and personal, do it. With the costs of weddings what they are, it’s slowly becoming the norm.
Food Experiences
Another trend is that people are opting for food experiences rather than just food at their wedding. Maybe there’s a mixology lesson before the first drink is tasted, a sampling of cakes with details on how to recreate them at home, or even information on how all the food is locally-sourced and organic. When it comes to what to eat and drink, free-reign is pretty much all yours with bonus points if you provide fun and an experience along the way.
At the end of the day, your wedding can be exactly what you want it to be, as it should. Listen to the trends that speak to you, but, above all else, be true to yourself and your beloved because that’s really what it’s all about.
